McLachlin makes cut, Wilson out in Canadian
Honolulu's Parker McLachlin did something Dean Wilson did not -- he survived the cut.
After closing with a 69 yesterday to complete his rain-delayed second round at the RBC Canadian Open, the Punahou School graduate made the most of his weekend opportunity. He came back later in the day to shoot a 3-under 69, good enough for a tie for 22nd at 7-under 206.
He trails front-runners Anthony Kim and Chez Reavie -- who still has two holes left to finish his third round today -- by eight shots. The former UCLA golfer managed four birdies and one bogey for the day.
McLachlin is No. 94 on the FedExCup list and in need of a good finish to climb higher in the rankings as the PGA Tour enters the stretch drive for the $10 million grand prize.
Wilson finished tied for 94th, missing the cut by two shots. He is ranked 57th on the FedExCup list, but will drop some spots at the conclusion of this event.
