State to allow catfish fishing at Nuuanu

The state is accepting applications for channel catfish fishing at Nuuanu Reservoir No. 4, beginning tomorrow.
Anglers wanting to fish on weekends starting Aug. 30 must get an entry fishing card and a Hawaii freshwater game fishing license.
Entry fishing card applications will be available tomorrow through Aug. 15 and can be picked up at the Department of Land and Natural Resources' Division of Aquatic Resources, 1151 Punchbowl St., room 330 or from various licensing agents on Oahu.
Deadline to submit applications in person to DLNR is 4 p.m. Aug. 14. Mailed applications must be postmarked by Aug. 15.
All card holders must show a Hawaii freshwater game fishing license when fishing. Licenses may be obtained at fishing supply stores or on the Division of Aquatic Resources Web page at hawaii.gov/dlnr/dar.
Applicants will receive an entry card with the date and time that they can enter the reservoir. For more information call 587-0100.
