Star-Bulletin staff
The Leeward Pilot Club will offer children free use of safety riding helmets tomorrow at the Gunstock Ranch rodeo in Laie as part of a "Save Your Brain" campaign.
The Hawaii Women's Rodeo Association and Oahu Horse Show Association welcome the program as a way to prevent brain injuries from children falling in horse sporting events.
The Pilot Clubs of Hawaii have provided the helmets as part of a brain injury education and prevention program.
Leeward Pilot Club was formed in 1993 to promote awareness of brain-related disorders, injuries and causes.
The nonprofit Pilot Foundation of Hawaii gathers resources to support programs of the Pilot Clubs.
