'Dog' ready to go on the prowl again

Dog Chapman fans already know that "Dog the Bounty Hunter" and its star return tonight, chastened and ready for action. The fifth season begins after a long hiatus for reasons already covered in the media ad nauseam.

Dog and his wife, Beth Chapman, recently traveled to the mainland after serving as celebrity chefs in a cook-off at the Flavors of Honolulu benefit.

They're still out of town, preparing for talk-show rounds to promote the new season and fresh start. Appearances might include "The Today Show" and a visit with Conan O'Brien or David Letterman, according to Chapman's spokesperson.

"Dog the Bounty Hunter" airs at 6 and 10 p.m. Wednesdays on A&E Television Network. -- Star-Bulletin
