According to Joe
Joe Gedan
|
Right to what life?
A frozen embryo not to be used
With a human life is often confused.
It's a human being, some regard it
But after a while some must be discarded.
If it's a human life we must keep
Then we can't discard it in the trash heap.
If it's a product of some donor and wife
Then how can we imprison that "person" for life.
Sanctity for an embryo is their defense,
But it's sanctimonious and makes no sense.
Wake up! Let's end our silence
And assure the advance of medical science.
Daily headlines inspire the poet in Joe Gedan, a retired U.S. magistrate judge who lives in Honolulu. His observations on the news appear on Sundays and Fridays.
