» Kurt Suzuki (Baldwin) batted second for the first time all season in Friday's game against San Francisco. He went 0-for-4, ending his nine-game hitting streak. Suzuki has hit in every spot in the order except third and fourth, according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. Earlier last week Suzuki was nominated for the American League Player of the Week Award for the period ending June 22.
» Shane Victorino (Saint Anthony) stole his 20th base of the season in a loss to Oakland on Thursday. Victorino is 6-for-6 in stolen bases over his last seven games, two of which were off fellow Maui native and Athletics catcher Kurt Suzuki.
» Brandon League (Saint Louis) was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse by Toronto on June 21. The right-hander has yet to pitch since being recalled. League pitched relief in two games earlier this season for the Blue Jays before being demoted in April.
» Dane Sardinha (Kamehameha) was recalled from Triple-A Toledo by Detroit on Wednesday, replacing backup catcher Brandon Inge, who was placed on the DL with a pulled oblique. Sardinha made his Tigers debut on Thursday, batting 0-for-4.
» Since outfielder Bronson Sardinha arrived from Triple-A Buffalo on May 27, Double-A Akron has a 24-8 record. Sardinha is hitting .282 with 27 RBIs in 28 games.
» Kila Kaaihue (Iolani) went 1-for-5 with a fifth-inning double for the North Team in the Double-A Texas League All-Star game on Wednesday. The day before, Kaaihue placed second in the Texas League Home Run Derby, belting six in the first round and seven in the second before being eliminated. Kaaihue has hit a league-leading 17 home runs this season.
» Reid Santos (Castle) has struggled of late, allowing seven runs in his last five outings for Double-A Akron.
» Justin Frash (Hawaii) is 12-for-33 (.363) over his last nine games playing for Single-A Kane County.
» Kanekoa Texeira (Kamehameha) pitched a scoreless eighth inning to earn the win for the Carolina League All-Star team on Tuesday.
