At the age of 9, Isabella Powers is already hosting her own television program. "Isabella's Animal Show" airs on cable TV in Sacramento, Calif.
The program brought her to Hawaii, where she filmed at the Honolulu Zoo on Monday.
Her show has also taken her from the Sacramento Zoo to a goat farm in Utah, with each 10- to 15-minute episode written and filmed by Isabella and her father, Patrick, for airing on Access Sacramento.
Isabella conducts her own interviews -- in Honolulu, with Zoo Director Kenneth Redman -- and collects facts to share with her audience. In Utah, she even milked a goat.
The young host also plans to do stories around Waikiki this week as a correspondent for another kids' show, "Kid's Corporation."
Powers appeared in her first movie, the local production "Elsa Letterseed," at age 5, and has been chosen to participate in the 48-Hour Film Fest, a Sacramento contest in which filmmakers race to write, produce and edit an original movie.
She continues to audition for film and commercial work, all while attending the fourth grade, but her dream is to earn a soccer scholarship and eventually become a heart surgeon.
