» Tyler Yates (Kauai, Hawaii-Hilo) is excelling in the setup role to Pittsburgh Pirates closer Matt Capps. The Kauai native currently has six consecutive scoreless relief appearances.

» Dane Sardinha (Kamehameha) is hitless in his last five games, going 0-for-16 while striking out seven times.

» Shane Komine (Kalani) was placed on the seven-day disabled list on June 10 by Triple-A Sacramento for the second time this season. The former University of Nebraska pitching ace is suffering from right shoulder inflammation.

» Kila Kaaihue (Iolani) was named to the Double-A Texas League Northern Division All-Star team. The Northwest Arkansas power-hitting first baseman is second in the league in home runs (14).

» Bronson Sardinha (Kamehameha) went hitless against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on June 11, ending his 12-game hitting streak.

» The Potomac Nationals, Washington's high Single-A affiliate, signed infielder Brian Finegan (Hawaii) as a minor league free agent. This year, the Hawaii alum hit .207 with only three RBIs in 31 games for Double-A Altoona in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization and was released after being sent down to Extended Spring Training.

» Matt Inouye (Mid-Pacific, Hawaii) extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a 1-for-4 performance on Friday for Single-A Kannapolis.

» Keoni Ruth (Kamehameha) of Single-A Lake Elsinore had slapped five hits and scored three runs in a 21-4 rout of the High Desert Mavericks on Monday.

» Kanekoa Texeira (Kamehameha) extended his scoreless inning streak to eight games on Thursday, pitching two shutout innings to earn his 11th save. The Winston-Salem closer has a 1.50 ERA and is second in the Carolina League in saves.

» Steven Wright (Hawaii) will represent the Single-A Kinston Indians in the Carolina League All-Star team. The former Hawaii pitching ace will play in the Carolina vs. California League All-Star game on June 24 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Wright has a 2.99 ERA despite a 2-4 record this season.

» The Evansville Otters of the independent Frontier League signed infielder Gered Mochizuki (Baldwin). Mochizuki played briefly for the Orange County Flyers of the independent Golden Baseball League earlier this season. He joins Isaac Omura (Mid-Pacific, Hawaii) and Ricky Bauer (Mid-Pacific, Hawaii) in Evansville.
