An ÄúushioniÄù from the Uwajima Ushioni Hozonkai dropped its head over the crowd yesterday during the 29th Annual Pan- Pacific Festival parade down Kalakaua Avenue. The ushioni is a large, bull-like costume worn by a team of bearers. The parade capped off a weekend of events that featured cultural exhibitions, including the songs, dances and traditions of the people of Japan, Hawaii and the Pacific Basin.

Nicholas Zimmerhanzel played with some Lego pieces yesterday during the Robotic Fun Event at the Hawaii ChildrenÄôs Discovery Center. Various elementary and high schools, Robofest and Junior First Lego League had displays.
