Music will get tubular in tuba-organ performance
Now here's something you don't get to hear every day: a tuba and an organ making music together.
On Wednesday, Adam Snider, principal tuba player with the Honolulu Symphony, and John Renke, director of music at St. Andrew's Cathedral, will perform in a lunchtime recital.
The performance begins at 12:30 p.m. at the cathedral in Queen Emma Square, with Renke performing on the church's Aeolian Skinner pipe organ. Brown-bag lunches are welcome.
"Wednesdays at St. Andrew's" recitals are preceded by a celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 12:05 p.m. Performances are free; donations accepted. Call 524-2822, ext. 217.
