In their second show in as many years, Dropkick Murphys (pictured) returns on Friday at Pipeline Cafe.
Formed in 1996 and based out of Boston, the band continues to tour this year in support of their 2007 release, "The Meanest of Times." The only change this time around is guitarist Marc Orrell is no longer with the band; accordion player Tim Brennan has stepped up as his replacement.

The preliminary round of the Honolulu Pride Festival Foundation's "Pride Idol" continues with a stop at Chiko's Tavern in McCully next week, following the first two rounds of competition at Fusion Waikiki and Club Ke Kai Lounge.
Singing starts at 10 p.m. Wednesday, with the night's winner receiving $50 cash and an invitation to the finals on June 28 during Pride Fest 2008. Call 224-2701 for more information.
