Kaiser's Richardson gets new position
Frank Richardson, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii senior counsel, was named the organization's executive director of government relations, a newly created position, Kaiser announced. He will lead Kaiser's government affairs program for the Hawaii region and continue as senior counsel in the health and regulatory area of the legal and government relations department.
Phyllis Dendle will continue as director of government relations.
Jennifer Wong, a seventh-grader at Kapolei Middle School, won a $3,500 first prize in Negative Population Growth's national poster contest. The theme of the contest was "Too Many People."
The Siemens Awards for Advanced Placement went to students Bo Hyung Yoon of Hawaii Preparatory Academy and Thomas Young of Punahou School, who won $2,000 scholarships; and teacher Deborah Kula of Sacred Hearts Academy, who received $1,000.
The Market City Foundation awarded $1,000 scholarships to Kevin John Donahue of Saint Louis School and Monica Mei Lin Umeda of Kaimuki High.
