Honeymooners Jenna Bush, husband, visit Lanai City Grille
Last week, in the sleepy little town of Lanai City, it was obvious that something was up when several well-built men in black suits with walkie talkies arrived at the Hotel Lanai to check in. George W. Bush, arrived with new husband,
Henry Hagar, to have dinner at Lanai City Grille. As usual on Friday nights, the grille was jumpin' with plenty of Hawaiian-style fun and music. There was no celebrity scene as Jenna and Henry came in by themselves and had a romantic dinner for two, according to grille manager
Michelle Kommes. "Even though Lanai is a quiet little island, we do get our share of celebrities at the grille," Michelle said. "If I didn't know the story, I would have thought that this was just another sweet honeymoon couple having dinner with us. Jenna and Henry were a genuine pleasure to have with us and we are hoping they return often in the future." Jenna and Henry may have dined alone but I'll bet those men in black were lurking nearby ...

Iolani girls donate hair for cancer patients
Six Iolani students, from grades eight through 12, and a teacher recently had their hair cut at Chop by volunteer stylists so they could donate their locks to Beautiful Lengths. Beautiful Lengths is a national organization that supports women who have lost their hair during cancer treatment. Donating their hair were teacher

Allison Stitham, 17, a senior, organized the donations but could not donate this year because her hair was too short after making a past donation. She started making donations in the eighth grade. Ironically, her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. She is still being treated and is doing fine, Allison said ...
A funeral for Makiki boy Hank Auerbach, who died Jan. 9 in Seattle at the age of 76, will be held at 1 p.m., June 12, at Punchbowl Cemetery. Hank was a retired Pan American exec who managed key areas for the airline during his lengthy career. He made his home in Seattle after his retirement ...
