Maui resort lets guests adopt whales and dolphins
The Wailea Beach Villas has partnered with the Pacific Whale Foundation to give guests an opportunity to adopt a humpback whale when booking a stay.
From mid-December through mid-May the North Pacific Herd of humpbacks makes its way from Alaska to Hawaii to mate and give birth. The Auau Channel is one of the best places to see the whales.
The whale adoption includes an adoption certificate, whale's life history, full-color whale-watching guide, "I Love Whales" bumper sticker, Adopt-a-Whale parent ID card, newsletters and action alerts from the foundation, three-night stay in a two-bedroom garden-view penthouse and welcome gift. The package will be available Jan. 6 through April 19 for $3,675 (based on four people) or $918.75 per person.
A similar Adopt-a-Dolphin Program is currently offered through Dec. 19. The package includes the adoption information and three-night stay in a two-bedroom garden-view penthouse for $2,715 (based on four people) or $678.75 per person. Some restrictions apply. Call (866)-901-5201 or visit www.waileabeachvillas.com.
