» Kurt Suzuki (Baldwin) has hits in six of his last seven games since ending his 0-for-23 slump on May 16.
» Tyler Yates (Kauai) had allowed only one run in his last 11 innings before giving up three runs yesterday against the Cubs.
» Shane Komine (Kalani) was activated from extended spring training by Triple-A Sacramento on May 16 and has since been pitching in relief.
» Bronson Sardinha (Kamehameha) was signed by the Cleveland Indians organization on May 6 after being released by the Seattle Mariners. Sardinha, a former first-round draft pick of the New York Yankees, played eight games this season for Triple-A Tacoma, hitting .323 with five RBIs. Cleveland assigned Sardinha to Triple-A Buffalo, where he's hitting .300 with two home runs and five RBIs through 12 games.
» Kila Kaaihue (Iolani) returned to Double-A Northwest Arkansas' lineup on Wednesday after sitting out since May 12 because of back pain. Naturals manager Brian Poldberg expects Kaaihue to be the team's designated hitter for at least the next couple of games until his back is fully healed. Despite missing time Kaaihue still leads his team in home runs (10) and runs batted in (32).
» Matt Inouye (Mid-Pacific) was activated from the disabled list by Single-A Kannapolis on May 17.
» Jerome Williams (Waipahu) pitched five innings and allowed two runs as the Long Beach Armada routed the St. George Roadrunners 14-3 in the season-opening game of the independent Golden Baseball League on Thursday.
» Keoni De Renne (Iolani) of the York Revolution was featured in an article by the Evening Sun (Hanover, PA). It can be found on the Internet at www.eveningsun.com/ci_9093770.
