Reggae on Da Rocks

It's the second annual reggae fest, featuring a mad guest list that includes Half Pint, Freddie McGregor, Da'ville (pictured) and Mad Cobra, plus a lineup of local bands lead by Rebel Souljahs. Word of warning: no coolers, outside food or drinks, backpacks or bags will be allowed, and small purses will be subject to search. The music starts at 3 p.m. and tickets are $20 to $30.

This week, the featured artist is Paul Shimomoto. He's been a member of numerous doo-wop a cappella groups over the years, and a Hoku award nominee. Shimomoto has appeared on numerous occasions in the Hapa Haole Hawaiian Music Festival, joining such island luminaries as Nina Keali'iwahamana, Mahi Beamer, Gary Aiko, Marlene Sai and Danny Kaleikini. The show is from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Beach Walk's plaza stage.
