Surfrider offers treat for mothers and daughters
A "Sugar and Spice Mother Daughter Tea" will take place at the Veranda at the Moana Surfrider from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, highlighted by informal modeling of Cinnamon Girl fashions from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Savor dainty finger sandwiches and pastries with the Classic Tea Menu offered at $32.50 per adult, and a Classic Child's Tea menu with juice or milk, savory snacks of ham and cheese, egg salad and tuna sandwiches and sweet treats at $18. The "Sugar and Spice Mother Daughter Tea" includes a pot of the hotel's signature tea, the Moana Sunset, flavored with ohelo and mango.
Other options for adults are the Classic Tea and Champagne, at $42.50, or the new Chocolate Afternoon Tea, with a glass of ros champagne, chocolate liqueur, chocolate scones, chocolate-covered strawberries and a selection of fine Hawaiian chocolates for $45. Note that a 17 percent service charge is added for parties of seven adults or more.

Jewelry designers to show latest work at Neiman's
Check out the latest in jewelry designs from Franco Pianegonda and Shaesby during two events at Neiman Marcus.
Today: Meet Franco Pianegonda from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Designer Jewelry, Level One. The Italian designer will personally engrave Pianegonda purchases made during the event as well as any Pianegonda pieces customers have purchased in the past. Customers will receive a sterling silver bangle with charm for any $500 Pianegonda purchase, while supplies last.
Saturday: View Shaesby's new "Isola" collection from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Designer Jewelry, Level One. "Isola" means "island" in Italian, and the collection suits Hawaii lifestyles with its emphasis on stones of soft blues and green, plus coral from the ocean.
Local fashionistas display collections at Ultralounge
Five Hawaii designers will showcase looks from their latest collections as part of the Candy Bar party at Pearl Ultralounge tomorrow, starting at 10:30 p.m.
The event, sponsored by the Hawaii Fashion Incubator, will feature separates from Tobyp by Toby Portner, dresses and halters made from vintage silk scarves from State of Mind by Katie Bodnyk, eco-casuals from HerbanDevelopment by John Harper, Zsuzsa B. Jewelry by Asuzsa Bakonyi-Rodgers and dresses and separates from Kari Jane Threads by Jodi Salmonson.
Admission is free before 10 p.m., then $5 until midnight.

Planet Hollywood to host youth fashion show
Shine Hawaii is staging a pre-Mother's Day brunch with fashion show by 88 Ts as part of its aim to involve youths in drug-free, healthy activities.
The event will take place 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Planet Hollywood and will also feature a program of dance, martial arts and fencing.
