During the 12th Annual Meadow Gold Regatta on Saturday, 37 student teams from 28 middle and high schools on Oahu raced a two-person boat created by the students using Meadow Gold and/or VIVA half-gallon milk cartons, glue, rope and lots of tape. Christian Academy student Lexi Adres, 17, jumped out of the canoe off Magic Island and raced to the beach to cross the finish line as her fellow paddler, Tracy Ching, was all smiles. Teachers also got a chance to race using their students' boats. The fastest paddling teacher won a Meadow Gold ice cream party for his or her class.
