Willows pairs beer with dinner menu
Feeling philosophical? Hoist a beer while you ponder the state of the universe.
Three Philosophers, a New York brew, is among the choices in a beer dinner Friday at the Willows.
The five-course menu by chef Jay Matsukawa: Shrimp & Frites (with Duvel), Chilled Belgian Endive Soup (Unibroue Blanche de Chambly), Oven-Baked Mussels & Escargot (Unibroue La Fin du Monde), Beer-Braised Veal Shanks & Root Vegetables (Unibroue Maudite) and Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake (Three Philosophers).
Cost is $65, $55 for members of the Willows Beer Club. Call 952-9200. The Willows is at 901 Hausten St.
Chow down on cheesey menu
CheeseFest 2008 at Auntie Pasto's offers such specialties as Goat Cheese Ravioli, Whole Wheat Pasta with Myzithra Cheese, Crab and Cheese Manicotti, and Macaroni and Cheese Cake.
CheeseFest runs Thursday through May 28 at both Auntie Pasto's locations, 1099 S. Beretania St. and the Kunia Shopping Center.
Daily dinner specials will vary by location, including Gorgonzola-Crusted Rib Eye Steak on Saturdays at Beretania and Rosemary Pork Loin with Three-Cheese Risotto on Thursdays at Kunia.

Tasting menu aids Conservancy
Diners who choose the tasting menu at Maui's Hula Grill Kaanapali also will be making a donation to the Nature Conservancy of Hawaii Marine Program.
The restaurant will donate a portion of sales to the program through July 31.
The three-course dinner centers on an entree choice of Macadamia Nut Crusted, Roasted Mahimahi; Kiawe-Grilled Petite Filet of Beef; Herb-Grilled Ono; and Shrimp and Macadamia Nut Pesto.
Appetizer and dessert choices fill out the meal.
