Robinson homers in Menehunes’ shutout of Mules

As she has so often this season, Sarah Robinson dominated a team from the circle and helped herself at the plate.

The hurler for No. 4 Moanalua no-hit No. 8 Leilehua and contributed a solo homer in a 3-0 win yesterday in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red softball quarterfinals.

Robinson struck out 16 batters in going the distance. Her home run gave the Menehunes a 1-0 lead in the fourth. They added two runs in the fifth inning off Mules pitcher Kaylen Ynigues.

Makani Duhaylonsod shut out the Marauders for six innings after giving up a run in the first to lead the Trojans to the win. Duhaylonsod struck out six and walked none in a four-hitter. Elsa Apo drove in the only run for Waipahu.

Kayla Alcoran picked up the win, striking out six batters and allowing only two Bulldogs hits.
