GRAMMY-WINNING PRODUCERS HONORED: State Rep. Angus McKelvey led the House of Representatives in honoring Grammy Award-winning record producers George Kahumoku Jr. and Paul Konwiser and their Grammy-winning compilation album, "Treasures of Hawaiian Slack Key," March 19 at the state Capitol. Although Grammy rules state that the Grammy for a compilation goes only to the producers, not to the artists who perform on it, McKelvey recognized the artists as well. Robin Kamakahi (representing her husband, Dennis), left, was joined by McKelvey, Kahumoku, Konwiser, falsetto singer Richard Ho'opi'i, steel guitarist Bobby Ingano, Owana Salazar and Sterling Seaton at the event.
