UH tennis team edges Azusa Pacific
Sascha Heinemann and Andreas Weber teamed for a doubles victory, then both won their singles matches to lead the Hawaii men's tennis team to a 4-3 win over Azusa Pacific yesterday at the UH Tennis Complex.
A victory from the duo of Craig Faulk and Spence Mendoza gave UH the doubles point and Jeff Fitch's singles win secured the victory for the Rainbow Warriors (4-10).
Hawaii teams reach tennis semifinals
Hawaii teams filled out the semifinals of the Hawaiian Airlines Pacific West Conference Women's Tennis Championship with wins yesterday in St. George, Utah.
Hawaii Pacific and Hawaii-Hilo set up a meeting today by winning their quarterfinal matches at Green Valley Resort and Spa.
NCAA Division II No. 22 HPU shut out Notre Dame de Namur 7-0, while UH-Hilo advanced with a 7-1 win over Dixie State.
Top-seeded Brigham Young-Hawaii had a bye in the first round and will take on Chaminade, which edged Grand Canyon 5-3.
Today's winners meet for the championship tomorrow.
