Mother Marianne Awards announced

St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii has presented its Mother Marianne Awards to the following individuals who represent the spirit of Mother Marianne Cope, who brought the Sisters of St. Francis to Hawaii in 1883 to care for patients with Hansen's disease:

» Myron Tong, administrator of St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawaii, vice president of the former St. Francis Medical Center in his 33 years of service

» Kathy Hallock, senior social worker with St. Francis Hospice, Hawaii's oldest and largest hospice program; an employee since 1985

» Vincent H.S. Lee, Oahu Regional CEO of Hawaii Health Systems Corp., overseer of three hospitals; assistant administrator of St. Francis Medical Center and vice president at St. Francis Healthcare System for 25 years

» St. Francis Residential Care Community has appointed Jacob Silva director of Stay Healthy at Home.

The new program will enable seniors to live independently at home as long as possible.

Silva has served as nursing supervisor of St. Francis Home Care Services since 2006.

He has 18 years of service in the military and private sectors, including positions at Tripler Army Medical Center.
