"Hollywood Stars" was the theme for a fabulous party, the 19th annual Moonlight and Memories Gala, presented March 29 in the Hilton Hawaiian Village Tapa Ballroom by the Alzheimer's Association Aloha Chapter. Oscar (top level) table sponsor F. Warren Stone, left, and wife Karen were entertained by event committee members Paul Brown, Shelley Wilson (event chairwoman) and Elizabeth Lacy, and "The Four Marilyns": Sharon Brown, Claire Cooper, Naomi Loewe and Joyce Tomonari.

"Hard-boiled detective" John Seth escorted his wife, "film star" Lynn Seth, and kept surveying the scene for wrongdoers at Table 49. He said that he doesn't have many opportunities to wear a hat, and the theme of the party was good reason to bring it out of the closet.

Traffic going into Waikiki was horrendous, but Guy Merola, left, Pamela Young, Gary Sprinkle, Donna Walden and Mark Wong were able to get through the gridlock and reach the hotel in time to inspect the many items up for bid in the silent auction. Young and Sprinkle were an entertaining duo as co-emcees of the dinner program.

Fashion plate Lance Rae escorted Jewel Tuitele, left, and Ruth Limtiaco of the Limtiaco Co. Limtiaco and her company were one of the 29 "Grammy"-level table sponsors who went above and beyond buying individual tickets in supporting the event.

Honolulu Fire Department firefighters/"Village People" Keith Nakanelua, left, Robyn Ishihara, Kimo Sabe and Miles Bellis were the hit of evening. Bidding on a "firehouse-style meal for 10" prepared in the winner's home by the quartet reached $4,000 in live bidding, and the auctioneer asked them if they would produce a second dinner for the same price. The guys agreed, the runner-up bidder kicked in another $100 to bring their bid to $4,000 and HFD raised $8,000 for the battle against Alzheimer's in Hawaii.
