Chefs face off at Sheraton Kauai
Inspired by the chef-versus-chef TV cook-off "Iron Chef America" on the Food Network, Shells Restaurant at the Sheraton Kauai Resort, in Poipu, features a culinary challenge every Thursday during dinner hours.
Chefs start with a set of base ingredients that includes filet mignon, jumbo prawns, Kilauea jabong, Oma'o arugula, pickled ginger, green onions, caviar and champagne, then use their unique culinary philosophies to create their signature specials.
Meals are judged based on guest surveys and the number of entrees sold that night, with the winning chef receiving $100.
