Services will be held on Saturday for Pacific Business News founder and publisher George Mason.
Mason, 84, of Honolulu, was also director of economic development for the territory and the state of Hawaii under Gov. William Quinn and served in the U.S. Army as a corporal.
Mason was born in Buffalo, N.Y. He is survived by wife Dorothy, sons Glenn and Douglas, stepson Gregory Read, daughter Cathy, stepdaughter Bonnie Smith and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. at Oahu Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Inurnment is private. Aloha attire. No flowers. Donations are suggested to Alzheimer's Association and Hospice Hawaii.
