New 'Ala Moana' fragrance created for your home
Antica Farmacista has introduced its new luxury fragrance suited for island homes; it's name: Ala Moana.
The floral scent brings the tropical garden indoors with a blend of night-blooming jasmine, plumeria, tuberose and gardenia.
The scent is available exclusively at Nordstrom, in two sizes at $58 and $88.
AUDITIONS
Gospel Music Channel coming to Honolulu
Looking for your big break into Christian music? The Gospel Music Channel will hold auditions in search of the next big musical gospel/Christian superstar from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Honolulu Wal-Mart.
Solo artists ranging in age from 18 to 40 are invited to audition for "Gospel Dream 2008," an "Idol"-like talent search show. Fifteen contestants are being sought for the first round of competition.
The third season of the show premieres on GMC on June 1 and runs five consecutive Sunday nights. The grand winner will be announced June 29.
Contestants' audition experiences will be featured on the all-music station through June; GMC is available through DIRECTV nationwide on channel 338. The station is broadcast to more than 40 million homes.
The daylong event at Wal-Mart will provide entertainment for the family with games, activities and karaoke-style singing.

Design Center celebrates 1 year
The Honolulu Design Center is celebrating its first year with a birthday bash filled with music, food and wine tastings and designer workshops throughout the month.
The fun kicks off from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. tomorrow with a design workshop conducted by Judy Dawson, who will give tips on color in the BoConcept Showroom.
Stay for music by Keahi Conjugacion as the artist gives a sneak peak of her "My Paradise" European Tour concert from 7 to 9 p.m., with encore shows every Saturday this month. Reservations required by calling 237-5462 or e-mail info@honoluludesigncenter.com.

The Design Center is also marking Architecture Month with a screening of "True to Form: Vladimire Ossipoff, Architect," followed by a panel discussion. The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 29 at the Cupola Theatre.
Take a bird hike at Hoomaluhia
Join hike leaders Dave Watson and Abby Brown-Watson for a free bird walk through the trails and around the lake at Hoomaluhia Botanical Gardens from 7:30 to 9 a.m. tomorrow.
The hike leaders suggest wearing long pants, a long-sleeve shirt and walking shoes. Bring binoculars, insect repellent, sunscreen, water and rain gear. Call 233-7323 for reservations. Limited enrollment.

You could be the lucky winner of a "$100,000 Extreme Home Interior Makeover" courtesy of ABC Design Center during the 33rd annual Spring and New Products show April 25 to 27.
The package prize includes furniture, flooring, kitchen and bathroom makeover.
The event at the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall will also unveil the city's new HI5 recycling bins, present music by the new KRUSH and others, and host an encore of the "Taste of the Pacific," featuring the best of local favorites from Oahu eateries.
Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. April 25, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. April 26 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 27.
Cost is $5 general admission, $4 for military and seniors age 55 and older, and $4 for children.
