Gonsalves’ homer puts No. 3 Saint Louis past No. 1 MPI

Lucas Gonsalves hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the 11th as No. 3 Saint Louis upset top-ranked Mid-Pacific 9-8.

Gonsalves finished 2-for-4, driving in two runs, and Tamatoa Demello added three hits, including a double for the Crusaders, who tied the Owls for first in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu with the win.

Aaron Fujiki hit a three-run homer in the second for Mid-Pacific.

The Warriors broke open a close game with an eight-run sixth.

Spartans starting pitcher Craig Shoji held Kamehameha to one run over the first five innings before the Warriors' bats came alive in the sixth against three Maryknoll pitchers.

Pearl City's first score of the night, a Bryson Namba home run, was enough to jump-start the Chargers, igniting a three-run third inning that put the Hurricanes down for good.

Winning pitcher Bryson Nakamura did it all against Kapolei, picking up the win on the mound and hitting 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Kalani Brackenridge led Kapolei with a two-run inside-the-park homer in the third.

Kainoa Tom's home run in the bottom of the eighth propelled the Knights to a come-from-behind win over the Rough Riders. Roosevelt scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings.

Castle used two singles and a walk in the seventh to set up consecutive RBI singles by Josh Serrano and Coby Agres before tying the game on a hit-by-pitch.
