HPU promotes Fiesta and Sasaki
Marites D. Fiesta of Salt Lake is the new dean of students at Hawaii Pacific University. She joined HPU in 2006 as director of first-year programs, and was promoted to dean of student life and first-year programs last year.
Charles S. Sasaki was promoted to associate vice president of student affairs. He joined HPU in 2005 as dean of advising and counseling. Before that he was associate dean of students and an assistant professor of history at Chaminade University.
Jose Munoz has been appointed to a three-year term on the board of directors of Pacific Islanders in Communications, a nonprofit organization that supports the advancement of Pacific islander media content and talent, primarily through public television. He is currently an assistant professor at Guam Community College, where he also serves as the department chairman of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences and as president-elect of the Faculty Senate.
Angela Coloretti is the new executive director of College Connections Hawaii (CCH), which gives students from low-income and underrepresented backgrounds free access and guidance to educational opportunities. CCH offers free or reduced-cost tutoring, college counseling and test-preparation services throughout the state. Coloretti worked most recently with the federally funded Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program at the University of California-Los Angeles.
