Foundation distributes scholarships
Star-Bulletin staff
More than 35 scholarships for college and other post-high school programs are available through the Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation.
Students need not be graduates of Kamehameha Schools to apply. Most awards are geared toward full-time students at accredited institutions who demonstrate academic achievement and merit. Some applicants must show financial need. A few awards are available for part-time students and those in the trades.
Among the newest scholarships being offered are the Tesoro Corp. Scholarship, Joseph Nawahi Scholarship and Dwayne "Nakila" Steele Scholarship.
The Ke Ali'i Foundation, a charitable organization of Kamehameha Schools, gives preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry.
A list of scholarships, requirements and the online application can be found at www.Pauahi.org. The application deadline is May 2.
