HBA moves on by beating St. Joseph

Hawaii Baptist Academy (9-1) beat St. Joseph (9-7) 63-40 last night at Moanalua High School in the first round of the state Division II tournament.

The Eagles were led by Kyle Baretta, who had 16 points. For the Cardinals, Jacob Andrade hit six 3-pointers en route to a 21-point night.

McKinley 46, Kauai 42

Brothers Tana and Tavita Woordward scored 14 and 12 points as the Tigers edged the Red Raiders.

Kaiser 47, Word of Life 45

Salele Aliifua scored 15 points to lead the Cougars.

Farrington 50, Lanai 39

Bryson Tatupu-Leopoldo scored 10 points to lead the Govs past the Pine Lads.
