In Waikiki yesterday, Stephen "BooBoo" Hyche used a magnifying glass and the sun to burn his designs into driftwood that he collected. He said the pieces are popular with everyone from local kids to tourists. Hyche said he was originally planning to stay in Hawaii for three weeks, but he has been here three years now.
