Iolani boys in position to get their title back
Iolani has drawn the top seed for the Hawaiian Airlines Boys Basketball Division I State Championships, which tip off on Wednesday.
The Raiders (16-8) have a first-round bye, as do second-seeded Konawaena (25-6), third-seeded Mililani (20-9) and fourth-seeded Kamehameha-Maui.
Iolani's string of five state titles in a row came to an end last season. The Raiders will play the Moanalua-Campbell winner on Thursday. Kamehameha-Maui will play the Kamehameha-Hawaii/Kalaheo victor.
In the other bracket, Konawaena will wait for the Kahuku-Kamehameha winner. Mililani will face Punahou or Lahainaluna.
The Division II tourney is led by top-seeded Aiea (23-4). Other seeds are University (second), Kohala (third) and Molokai (fourth).
