Chevron honored for helping isle schools
Chevron USA was named a recipient of the inaugural 2007 Partnership in Education Awards in December by the state Department of Education. Chevron has been a partner for more than 20 years through the annual Chevron/Honolulu District Speech Festival.
Paul Pollock, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii's chief engineer and capital improvements business line coordinator, was named one of 32 members of the Pacific Century Fellows Program, designed to develop future state leaders. It is the 10th class of the annual program, chaired by Mayor Mufi Hannemann.
Paulette Ujimori, a civil/structural engineer at Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii, won the 2008 Young Engineer of the Year award from the Hawaii Council of Engineering Societies. She is a lead engineer in NAVFAC Hawaii's Asset Management Business Line.
Tom Koide, senior executive vice president of Bank of Hawaii, was elected to the board of directors of PBS Hawaii, the state's public television station. He oversees the bank's branches, automated teller machine network and the Call Center.
