Yano finds a pearl

The pro from Japan wins by two strokes

AIEA, Hawaii » Japan's Azuma Yano won the Pearl Open yesterday, while 16-year-old countryman Ryo Ishikawa finished 10th.

Yano closed with a 3-under 69 for a 12-under 216 total and two-stroke win over Hidemasa Hoshino and Kiyoshi Murota.

Ishikawa shot a 71 to finish six strokes behind Yano.


Hawaii Pearl Open

Japanese golfers took the top three spots at Pearl Country Club:

1. Azuma Yano -12
2. Kiyoshi Murota -10
2. Hidemasa Hoshino -10
4. Steve Schneiter -9
4. John Ellis -9
