Historical agency represented at forum
Susan Rice, development director of the Kona Historical Society, was one of 30 representatives of small- and medium-sized institutions selected to attend a national forum recently in Atlanta on "Preserving America's Diverse Heritage." More than 250 national conservation leaders, government officials, and museum, library, and archives professionals participated in the forum, sponsored by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Heritage Preservation.

Kaylan Rosenfeld was named an East-West Center Jefferson Fellow for the Spring 2008 program, an exchange among journalists in Asia, the Pacific and the United States.

Kuakini Health System appointed
Laurene Chun as its new director of nursing for long-term care. With more than 17 years of experience, she will manage the Kuakini Geriatric Care Inc.'s 187-bed intermediate and skilled nursing facility. Chun previously was director of nursing at Kaiser Permanente's long-term care facility.
