Adventurous spirit
Noah Orr is new to photography, but he has focused on it wholeheartedly
Noah Orr seems like a guy who views life as a series of opportunities for adventure. Two and a half years ago, after a visit to the islands, Orr relocated here "on a whim" from Colorado.
"I like to say it wasn't my choice -- I was just drawn to Hawaii. There was no job or anything. I just wanted to move here," he says.
A year later, Orr bought himself a digital camera and jumped into photography in much the same way he made his move to Hawaii: wholeheartedly.

"I loved it so much, I went crazy with it," he says earnestly. In that year, Orr guesses he's taken about 30,000 pictures. His favorite subject is nature, which he's completely enthralled with.
"I like to be taking pictures any place that's serene and quiet, places most people don't see every day," Orr says. "So I take all my equipment and hike, and I shoot plants and animals along the way. It's a great way to relax because I love being outdoors so much."
Orr has found that his time behind the lens becomes "more and more fun." So fun, in fact, that the newbie photographer hopes to grow a business from his passion. Little by little, he's been delving into wedding and portrait photography.
"There's nothing I'd rather be doing than taking pictures," he says.
