H-1 repaving near Waipahu to close lanes
The state Department of Transportation will resurface a nearly 2-mile stretch of the H-1 freeway between Waipahu Street and Waikele Stream bridge, starting Feb. 3.
There will be overnight lane closures for the next few months, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., Sunday nights through Friday mornings. No work will be done on Friday and Saturday nights.
Ramps at the Paiwa interchange and at the eastbound Waipahu offramp (Exit 8-A) are expected to be closed overnight from early February through the first week of April. Electronic message boards will publicize the closures.
The ZipperLane also will be deployed Feb. 10 and 24 and March 2, at 5:30 p.m., near the airport to make room for repaving work near Waikele around 9 p.m.
Grace Pacific Corp. is scheduled to complete the $4.6 million project in June.
