Castle Group adds resorts in Thailand
Castle Resorts & Hotels, which manages hotels and condominiums throughout Hawaii, said yesterday it will enter Thailand with contracts to manage two luxury resorts.
The company will manage the Katamanda on the southwest coast of Phuket and the Baan Taling Ngam Resort & Spa on the island of Koh Samui, which brings its properties up to 26 throughout Hawaii, Micronesia, New Zealand, Guam and Thailand.
The contracts are part of Castle's expansion into Southeast Asia, President and CEO Alan Mattson said in a statement.
"We plan to continue this aggressive expansion of our global presence from our Hawaii-based headquarters in 2008," he said.
The Katamanda is a gated resort with 40 villas on 13 acres on a bluff that overlooks both Kata Noi and Kata Beach. The 70-unit Baan Taling Ngam overlooks the Gulf of Thailand and the Ang Thong Marine National Park.
Castle, a subsidiary of Castle Group Inc., has acquired six management contracts in the past year, including the Maile Sky Court, Queen Kapiolani Hotel and Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki on Oahu as well as the Hotel Santa Fe in Guam.
