Kamehameha offensive lineman Mykenna Ikehara has given an oral commitment to play for the University of Washington.

The 6-foot-3, 282-pound senior was voted by coaches and media to the Star-Bulletin All-State first team last season.

"He's a blue-collar player who works really hard to succeed," said Brian Derby, who runs the state's premier clinic for offensive linemen. "Has great feet and quickness. He will be a good center at the next level."

Ikehara carries a 3.9 grade-point average and is academically qualified according to the NCAA Clearinghouse.
