Betty Hanson Becker, 87, of Hawaii, who worked for more than 30 years as a clerk for the Senate Health Committee and as a Senate aide, died. She was an Army staff sergeant, Bronze Star recipient and secretary to the commanding general of the Army's China-Burma-India theater. Much of her life is documented in "Saints, Sinners and Shortstops," a book by her husband, Jim Becker, a former Associated Press correspondent. She is survived by husband Jim and two goddaughters.
