SING A SONG: Jeff Minter, left, Sarah Richards and party co-host Bobby Carpenter had front-row seats for an impromptu after-dinner cabaret show by Alethea Train, Cathy Foy-Mahi, Charles Degala and Gay Merola. Foy-Mahi and Degala opened with a spirited rendition of "Some Enchanted Evening." Foy-Mahi then danced hula while Merola sang "Waikiki" and joined him on vocals for a beautifully acted performance of "All I Ask of You."

BACHARACH: "SAVE THE SYMPHONY!": Burt Bacharach greeted concert sponsor Donna Walden, left, and Director's Circle member Carolyn Berry after his Saturday night performance with the Honolulu Symphony in the Blaisdell Concert Hall. Bacharach gave a superb two-hour performance that included both his first Hot 100 hit ("Magic Moments," in 1958) and his most recent composition ("For the Children," finished two weeks ago). Bacharach stopped the show to call for increased financial support for the symphony and said backstage, "It would be an absolute crime for this orchestra to go under, and I think somebody has got to step forward and not let it disappear. OCEAN CLUB REMEMBERED: Dan Punch, fourth from left, Liz Hata Watanabe, center with lei, and Papi, sixth from left, co-hosted a successful "Ocean Club Reunion" Saturday at the O Lounge. It's been four months since "Oceans" closed at Restaurant Row, and the O Lounge was comfortably full with people who fondly remember good times there. Go-go dancers Michi, left, Kristen, Shanna, Erin and Sabrina added old-time Ocean Club ambience.

"EVERYBODY" IS STILL THE CHAMP: Battle emcee TKO, left, was first in line to congratulate Everybody Knows as he savored the successful defense of his championship belt at "FLOW: The 808 Hip-Hop Showcase" Friday at the O Lounge. TKO bested two other emcees in the preliminary rounds but placed second to Everybody Knows in a close-fought battle for the belt. Battle emcee competition continues when "FLOW" returns to the O Lounge Feb. 1.

BEAUTIFUL PARTY: Garrett Saikley gave Vivian Stackpole a tour of the kitchen as he co-hosted an informal house party Sunday in East Honolulu. Stackpole was among the several dozen guests who enjoyed a hearty assortment of Hawaiian poke and other delicacies, musical entertainment and a glorious sunset.
