PLAXO FOR SALE. Plaxo, an early social networking site that helps people keep their address books updated, is up for auction, people briefed on the offering said last night. The company, which has not made a profit, is seeking as much as $100 million, these people said.
INDIAN IPO. Indian electric company JSW Energy Ltd. plans to raise as much as $1 billion in an IPO to build generators, two people familiar with the offer said. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wants to double investment in power over the next five years, eliminating the blackouts that curb economic growth.

» First Hawaiian Bank has announced the following vice president promotions:
Jen-L Lyman has been promoted to vice president and team leader, personal trust. She joined the bank in 2003 as a trust administrator and has also served as trust officer and assistant vice president.
Karen Y. Matsumoto has been promoted to vice president, RE residential loans. She joined the bank in 2002 as a mortgage banking loan coordinator and has also served as assistant vice president since 2005.
Manolo Tumalip has been promoted to vice president and manager, trust service center. He joined the bank in 1989 as an accountant and has also served as check processing manager and assistant vice president research and development analyst and information management officer.
Jeffrey S. Ventura has been promoted to vice president and area manager, Waipahu branch. He joined the bank in 1992 as a management trainee and has also served as loan representative, business banking associate, personal banking officer and branch manager at Ward branch.
