» Maui Economic Concerns of the Community has named
Rebecca Woods as executive director. She has served the organization for more than four years, having served as deputy director, case manager and interim executive director. She has also previously served as a Parent Community Network Coordinator and substitute teacher for the State of Hawaii Department of Education.
» First Hawaiian Bank has announced the following new hires and promotions for its Bishop Street Capital Management investment subsidiary: Michael K. Hirai has been named as a director. He will continue his duties as director of fixed income. He previously served as chairman of CIC/HCM Asset Management and has 24 years experience in fixed income and equity strategies management. Ken Miller has been named chief investment officer. He replaces Michael K. Hirai, who has been named director. He previously served at JP Morgan prior to joining First Hawaiian Bank in 2002. Jennifer Carias has been promoted to senior vice president from vice president. She joined First Hawaiian Bank as a teller and has held positions in the bank's audit and trust divisions. She has more than 20 years of banking and management experience. Terrence Flynn has been hired as senior vice president and portfolio management. He previously served as director of business development and client services for Seattle-Northwest Asset Management and senior fixed income portfolio manager for the holding company of California Bank and Trust. Stephanie Chun has been hired as vice president and portfolio manager. She previously served as vice president and fixed income portfolio manager for Oakwood Capital Management in Los Angeles and has more than six years of fixed income investment and portfolio management experience.
» First Hawaiian Bank has announced the following vice president promotions: Paul G. Alimbuyao has been promoted to vice president and manager, trust service center. He joined the bank in 1997 as a trust asset control supervisor and has also served as assistant vice president in 2002 and manager in 2003. Shirley M. Durham has been promoted to vice president, transaction management. She joined the bank in 1989 as a document processing clerk and has also served as trust account clerk, transaction management shift supervisor and officer. John H. Flanigan has been promoted to vice president, cash management services. He joined the bank in 1996 as cash management sales specialist and has also served as sales officer and assistant vice president.John Kubo has been promoted to vice president, merchant services department. He previously served as assistant vice president, merchant services division since 1998 and has more than 27 years of banking experience.
