Pape puts away Hawaii Pacific

Iolani graduate Kyle Pape scored 21 points and the Colorado School of Mines (6-4) beat Hawaii Pacific 73-61 in a nonconference men's basketball game last night at Blaisdell Arena.

The Sea Warriors (4-4) are off until Dec. 29, when they visit Western New Mexico in the Pacific West Conference opener for both teams.

» Chris Banchero's shot with 5 seconds left lifted Seattle Pacific over No. 9 Brigham Young-Hawaii 75-73 in a nonconference men's basketball game last night at Cannon Activities Center.

Marques Echole led the Falcons (6-1) with 33 points, hitting 13 field goals, including 6 3-pointers.

For the Seasiders (5-2), Lucas Alves turned in a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. BYUH had five other players in double figures: Corey Nielson and Nathan Sims with 11 each, and Trenson Akana, Paul Peterson and Jermaine Odjegba all with 10.
