According to Joe
Joe Gedan
|
Don’t use the ‘C’ word
In late December this is what we expect:
Keep your greetings politically correct.
If you say "Christmas," great wrath you'll incur
For not keeping your wordage nonsecular
When you see your friends at casual meetings
Remember to say only, "Seasons greetings."
Your verbiage may offend in many ways
But not if you just say, "Happy holidays."
As for me, in poetic form, I will survive
By reciting, "'Twas the night before 12/25 ..."
Daily headlines inspire the poet in Joe Gedan, a retired U.S. magistrate judge who lives in Honolulu. His observations on the news appear on Sundays and Fridays.
