Hawaii Bowl festivities
As part of a pre-celebration of Dec. 23rd's Sheraton Hawaii Bowl game, a special 3-day Sunset on the Beach happens today, tomorrow and Tuesday in Waikiki.
Cheerleaders and mascots from the Boise State and East Carolina teams, plus surprise guests, will join the festivities on Tuesday. Featured films, shown free to the public, will be "National Treasure" today (with an exclusive preview of "National Treasure: Book of Secrets," opening next Friday in theaters), "The Santa Clause 3" tomorrow and "Gridiron Gang" on Tuesday.
Prizes from the new "National Treasure" movie will be given out on Saturday, including T-shirts, signed posters and movie passes.
Live entertainment starts at 4:30 p.m. all days, including Everyday People and Taimane Gardner today on stage, Simplisity on Sunday and, on Tuesday, Hoku Award winner Afatia Thompson, who will share songs from his winning CD, as well as selections from his new holiday CD.
Food booths will open at 4, and include Ba-le Sandwich & Vietnamese Food, California Pizza Kitchen, India Café, Mean Da Chicken and Royal Hawaiian Hot Dog.
