Strength clinic scheduled at KCC
The National Strength and Conditioning Association is holding a clinic next Saturday at Kapiolani Community College where you can get the latest information on performance enhancement and injury prevention.
You can also get tips on proper training methods and learn about exercise science concepts that will benefit you or -- if you're a personal trainer -- your clients.
Speakers will include Charles Trinh, who is the NSCA Hawaii State Director; Douglas Crowell, program coordinator for exercise and sport science at Kapiolani Community College; Alan Titchenal, assistant professor in the department of human nutrition, food and animal sciences at the University of Hawaii; Jan Prins, program adviser for the department of kinesiology at UH; and Kenneth Nakasone, program director for Body Balance for Performance.
The clinic is open to the public. Fees are $100 for NSCA members, $120 for non-menbers and $70 for students.
On-site registration begins at 8 a.m. with sessions beginning at 8:45.
