Calendar by Rehab patients is a beautiful work of art
Rehab Hospital's 2008 Art From the Heart calendar, featuring paintings by patients, is a fine piece of work. Some of the patients use a mouth-stick brush to paint because of their ailments, but viewers will be surprised at the high quality of their art work. The patient-artists are members of the Louis Vuitton Creative Arts Program, established in 1994, at the hospital. They say painting gives them a boost with their medical problems. The patient-artists are: Virginia Hatfield, Patricia Ellard, Miles Sakaguchi, Fran Yamate, Rosemary Mattice, Peter Maaele, Alex Vicente, Morris Nakamura, Julia Mullock-Lee, Pearl Iwaida, John Tuan Le
and Dennis Okada
