This is the fourth book by early-education expert Stephanie Feeney. Feeney addresses how, in Hawaii and elsewhere in the tropics, the change in seasons often goes unnoticed, and the book helps children appreciate the seasons.

"Hawaii: A State of Being"

By Heather Titus, $68 hardcover, $45 paperback

Heather Titus is a local author whose first book, the best seller "Passion and Beauty," was published in 2004. "Hawaii: A State of Being" primarily presents exquisite photographs of nature and hula, interwoven with quotes from the ancient Hawaiian perspective.
